Proclamations
In 2005, Pride week was again granted official recognition by York Region. It was also proclaimed by all municipalities, except King Township which had introduced a 'no proclamations' policy the previous year.

Pride Displays
Throughout June, Pride Week LGBTQ awareness displays appeared in public libraries around York Region. These included Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Markham (Angus Glen), Markham (Village), Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan (Bathurst/Clark)
Vaughan Community Information Fair
On the afternoon of Sunday, 29th May, Pride York Region kicked off this year's Pride Week by participating in the Vaughan Community Information Fair at Maple School.
