York Pride Fest 2010 - Volunteer Opportunities
Help To Support Your Local Pride!
Current Volunteer Opportunites
In preparation for York Pride Fest 2010, we would like to find volunteers able to assist us in the following areas:
  • Sponsorship and fund-raising initiatives
  • Creation of short promotional videos (in particular, script writers, actors and voice actors)
  • Publicity and media: Including creative writing, media liaison and poster distribution
  • Pride Week events: Planning, setup, cleanup, food/drink service
  • Toronto Pride: Participation in the parade on July 4th and assistance with our community booth on July 3rd and 4th.
If you might be interested in volunteering for these activities or you believe you can assist us in any other way, please contact us.
Youth Volunteers Needed For 2011!
Since the formation of York Pride Fest, we have staged a Rainbow Fusion youth event each year, as part of our Pride Festival. However, in past years these events have always be held in the south of the region, and consequently they have not adequately catered for young people living north of Richmond Hill.
To remedy this problem, in addition to our youth event in the south of the region, in 2011 we will be launching a new 'Rainbow Fusion North' event in Newmarket.
To enable us to organize this new event and make it a success, over the coming months we will be forming a team of youth volunteers in the north of our region. And, of course, we're always happy to welcome new youth volunteers further south. If you would like to share your ideas with us or volunteer to join one of our youth teams, please register now as one of our volunteers. The sooner you join us, the better our 2011 events will be! It's a great way to make new friends as well as supporting diversity and equality in Canada's fastest growing region. And, as an added bonus, your time spent as a York Pride Fest volunteer can be counted as OSSD community service hours!
Our Team
York Pride Fest is run exclusively by a team of dedicated volunteers. Members of our planning committee include members of the local LGBT community as well as representatives from the following local community organizations:
